Each of us doing what we do best.
Griddl is a creative studio in Los Angeles specializing in design, branding, and strategy. They work the client's business end to end (positioning, identity, and experience), with a special soft spot for impact-driven businesses and nonprofits. It's design with purpose: every visual decision is born from a business intention. The site doesn't just charm whoever lands on it — it guides, delivers the right message, and drives results. But every beautiful project needs, at some point, to become code — and that's exactly where our story begins.
As Griddl's clients' projects grew, having a dedicated technical team became the natural next step — one capable of bringing development up to the same level as the design. The first sites ran on page builders (Elementor, Crocoblock) — a quick and common choice, but one that wouldn't keep up with increasingly ambitious projects in performance and long-term maintenance. That's when we proposed evolving the foundation: from page builders to custom-built themes.
And there was the most precious asset of any agency owner: time. Ana and Maria needed to be where they shine — on strategy, attracting clients, growing the business. Having a development partner you can trust is exactly what frees up that focus. With the technical side in good hands, they fly higher.
But a partnership like this isn't born ready-made. It's built project by project, and ours started small.
Process
How we did it
The first project
Maria found us, and the first job was a single page, tied to a Caltech publication. We delivered it with care, on time, and what started as a freelance gig turned into trust. Trust turned into a contract — going strong since 2021.
The whole technology side
Today GritoWeb handles practically all the technical decision-making on Griddl's projects, joining in from the earliest phases to help shape the technical strategy that guides the build and supports the design decisions.
From page builders to custom themes
We moved the projects to WordPress themes built on Sage with native Gutenberg blocks: performance we control, sane maintenance as the site grows, and a clean, easy editor for the end client.
Monthly maintenance
Plugin updates, backups, and security across all the sites. Griddl doesn't lose a night of sleep over any of it, because it's our problem.

What we delivered
Impact
The part we're proud of.
There's one detail that makes every Griddl project even more worth it: almost all of them carry real social impact. NGOs, causes, organizations that exist to make someone's life better. When your code helps put one of those organizations' sites on the air, it gets hard to pick the "best" one: they all matter, however small. And it's not every day you get to say your technical work ended up serving causes that are worth it.
A few examples of what that means in practice:
- St. Joseph Center: a Los Angeles nonprofit supporting people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability, with housing, food, and mental health care.
- Chino Basin Water Conservation District: a public agency that has looked after water conservation and community environmental education since 1949.
- San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation District: another water conservation district, balancing infrastructure, habitat, and mindful water use.
- KATE, by Overdose Lifeline: a free, anonymous chatbot offering overdose-prevention guidance in dozens of languages.
In the end, that's what it's all about: each of us doing what we do best, and both going further together.
Richard and his team have become not only an extension of our internal team, but actual family.
Since we started working with GritoWeb, the complexity of the projects we've been able to take on has exponentially grown. As a creative agency, it is incredibly freeing to let the creativity run as wild as we can and then have our trusted dev team guide us on how to make it a reality. We have been working with GritoWeb for over 5 years now and can't imagine continuing the impactful work that we do together without them. Richard is a pleasure to work with, always in a great mood and always ready to help. While we pretty much would like to have them all to ourselves, we highly recommend GritoWeb to anyone looking for development support on their creative projects.

White-label
Why this matters for your agency.
If you run an agency that's strong on creative, strategy, or branding, you know this ceiling well: the design is gorgeous, the client loves it, but the technical execution drags you down. Maintaining, optimizing, scaling: all of it eats the time that should be going into growth.
That's exactly the arm GritoWeb becomes. White-label, inside your workflow, never competing for your client. You sign the work; we do the unglamorous part of making it work.
Griddl has trusted us since 2021. Need a dev team you can trust? Give us a shout.
